Always
Instigating

It’s what we do. We’re not Surly because we’re dissatisfied with the status quo. We’re Surly because we do something about it. That ferocious spirit of provocation, of experimentation, of just doing the damn thing, that’s Surly.

Our BEERs

Each day, Surly relentlessly pursues craft beer perfection. Pushing boundaries, honing techniques, sweating the details, and eternally grateful that we get to do this for our job. Proudly independent since Day One and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Easter Brunch 2024

Yes, you heard that right. Our legendary Easter Brunch returns on Sunday, March 31st. Full buffet, family activities, beer, seltzer cocktails, a grown-ass man in a bunny costume. It literally has everything for both you, the kiddos, grandparents, aunts, uncles, your best friend and neighbor down the street.

Surly Gives a Damn (SGAD) is our charitable arm. It’s our way of giving back to the communities that built us. We contribute to organizations that make our part of the world a better place to live, through donations, partnerships and volunteer events. Our volunteers are a vital, passionate bunch, and they really do give a damn. You’re more than welcome to join. We’d love to have you.

When you can't pick just one.

Mosh Pit Juicy Pale Ale, Mosh Pit Hazy IPA, and Mosh Pit Imperial IPA now available to all Surly markets.
Welcome back to the @basilicablockparty, where you'll be able to get Surly all day Friday and Saturday! (Side note to the Goo Goo Dolls: Hold Me Up still rips.)

4/20 is on a Saturday this year. You really have a full day to explore the space and enjoy the unofficial (and now very actually legal) holiday.

With that in mind, Gourmet Munchies returns to Surly Pizza for a five-hour celebration!

We’ll be featuring limited edition menu items and an all-new, all-dank IPA befitting the day. In addition, we’ll have custom CBD mocktails, a hop aroma experience, live glassblowing demos from Legacy Glassworks (don't miss this), and vendors on Saturday from 2-7pm. Admission is FREE.

(NOTE: If you’re celebrating this special day at home, the mocktails and menu items will be available 4/16-4/19.)

Vendors include:

@blncdnaturals
@nattykakes

It's a Mosh Pit Monday, so:

1. Enjoy this picture of Blake crowd surfing, and
2. Then look for Mosh Pit (Hazy, Juicy, and/or Imperial) at your local craft beer provider. #moshpitmonday #blake
Honestly, Daylight Saving Time would be a breeze if dogs and children understood it.

Until then, we have A House Blend from Surly and Peace Coffee.
No winter? No problem. We are stoked to sponsor Bedrace for @bridgingmn's Beer Garden again this year! Each participant will get a token for a free beer or N/A beverage, and we're also doling out prizes for best costume. See you on the slopes!
The final third of our Mosh Pit triple bill takes the stage this week, as Mosh Pit Imperial heads to stores and bars across the Surly map. Idaho 7™, Sabro, Amarillo, Citra, and Cascade hops lead the Imperial attack, with heavy citrus notes of orange and lemon landing like a double kick drum.

Imperial Mosh Pit is available on draft and in 6 and 12-packs. It joins Mosh Pit Hazy and Mosh Pit Juicy as part of Surly’s Mosh Pit family of beers. If you're in our neighborhood, try a flight of all three in our Beer Hall!

Finally: This Saturday (3/9), DJ Brian Engel will be spinning records from noon-5pm in the Beer Hall to celebrate Imperial's arrival. Bring your own vinyl, and if he plays one of your selections, we'll comp you a Mosh Pit flight (must be 21 to participate, sorry minors).
We’re pleased to announce that Surly’s 2024 Darkness Artist is Susan Evans of St. Paul!

Susan says she spent most of her childhood “destroying homework assignments with drawings of mythical creatures.” Given that Darkness has featured everything from mummies and vampires to Baba Yagas, this really helped her case.

Her need to create led Susan to pursue a degree in graphic design and develop her traditional hand on the side. The samples she sent proved this was time well spent. We were blown away and can’t wait to see what she does with the Darkness line (traditional, variants, and barrel-aged). To check out more of her work, her Instagram handle is @sooz_illustration.

Congratulations Susan and thank you to all the artists who submitted their work! October will be here before you know it…
Entering our Imperial Era next week.
Polar Plungers: Cheers to the only people who will actually be cold today. We got the party started yesterday and raised $6K for the cause!

Surly is proud to be a longtime sponsor of Special Olympics Minnesota and the Polar Plunge, including this year’s post-plunge beverages. Dry off, warm up, and enjoy a Surly! (Doesn’t have to be in that order, choose your adventure.)
THE PATIO IS OPEN. THIS IS NOT A DRILL. REPEAT: THE PATIO IS OPEN.
